The famous Indian poet Mahadevi Verma gave the name "Gillu" to the small squirrel she found on the ground. The baby squirrel was not in a great condition and was surrounded by crows that were trying to take it away. She rescued the baby and aided her with all her motherly affection and great care. Slowly, after a few days, the squirrel started having a little milk. Life of that little squirrel was very precious to the poet and she later on wrote a poem in regards to the baby. This shows the importance of a small living being in the conscience of the poet. We must remember that life of every being is equally important and we must cherish others freedom and promote such deeds. Lastly, the poet adopted the little squirrel for the rest of its life.
