Rukmini Devi Arundale started Kalakshetra Dance Academy. She was born on 29 February 1904 and died on 24 February 1986. She was an Indian dancer, and choreographer of one of the Indias classical dance, Bharatnatyam and she was also associated as an activist of animals and their welfare.
