Ashoka, the great ruler, succeeded Bindusara after his death.

After his death, there was a four year long war between his sons for the throne.

In the end Ashoka killed all his brothers and became successor of Bindusara in 269 BCE.

Bindusara's death in not recorded accurately in history books.

Various authors have given different dates but it is a general belief that he died between 273 BCE and 270 BCE.
