Griffith's experiment was an experiment done in 1928 by Frederick Griffith.

Avery, McLeod and McCarty and by Hershey and Chase.

In this experiment, bacteria from the III-S strain were killed by heat, and their remains were added to II-R strain bacteria.

While neither harmed the mice on their own, the blend of the two was able to kill mice. Frederick Griffith experiments were conducted with Streptococcus pneumoniae.

Option-D

Explanation:

Griffith experimented on Streptococcus pneumonia and identified that the heat-killed S bacteria (virulent), when injected with live R bacteria (avirulent), killed the mice.

This lead to the conclusion that there is some molecule which has transformed the avirulent R bacteria into the virulent bacteria or S bacteria. He called this substance as the "Transforming principle. "

Later the experiment was followed by the Avery, McLeod and Mc Carty in 1944 and identified that the transforming particle was the DNA.

Thus, Option-D is correct.
