1. Al Bruni was a great Persian Muslim scholar of 10th and 11th century.He was born in 973 in Khwarazm(Uzbekistan). He was well versed in physics, mathematics, natural science and astronomy.
2. He was also distinguished in history, chronology and linguistics. He travelled to India and became most important interpreter of Indian science to the Islamic world.
3.He wrote many books devoted to astronomy and mathematics. Most famous work of Al Biruni is the book "Kitab Al Hind"

Al-biruni was a traveller from Uzbekistan who came to India more than a thousand years ago. He wrote that the Indians were very skilled at making ponds. they piled up huge rocks joined with iron rods to build Chabutaras around the lake. there were rows of staircases going up and down.
