Anne Mansfield Sullivan was Helen's teacher. she too was born blind. Helen recognised her as a teacher when she was three months to eight years. it was an eventful afternoon when all the family members were busy for welcoming the teacher and on the other hand, Helen was eager as a beaver as she didn't know who was coming. she said that she was like a ship engulfed in a very dense fog and is fumbled to find its direction and destination. but it was soon recovered after the arrival of miss Sullivan.they together used to live in a small house in their backyard, and Sullivan used to teach her how to read and write, words she first taught her like doll,water, mug etc and later she got the meaning of each word.
