Aristotle Greek: pronounced 384–322 BC) was a Greek philosopher and polymath during the Classical period in Ancient Greece. Taught by Plato, he was the founder of the Lyceum, the Peripatetic school of philosophy, and the Aristotelian tradition.

Aristotle had made an attempt to classify organisms according to whether they lived on land, water and air. One of the major drawback of this classification was that this could not reflect natural relationships of organisms. As a result, different types of organisms were grouped together.

Answer:

Aristotle was a Greek philosopher and a

polymath.

Drawback-

Aristotle classified organisms but it failed to each and every animal in his system of classification. For example - Frogs are born in water they have gills but when they grow up gills get converted into lungs and frogs live and land and water both in adult stage.
