ASHOKA WAS THE GREAT RULER OF INDIAN MAURYAN EMPIRE. HE LIVED FROM 232 TO 304 BCE. HE RULED FROM 268 BCE TO 232 BCE. HE BECAME A MODEL OF KINSHIP IN BUDDHISTS TRADITION.
