Reasons for Succession War in Javali

1. Javali was located in strategical geography. The region was covered with dense forests on all sides which meant that no enemies could ever attack it from the borders.
2. The region was situated adjacent to the Arbi Ocean. This meant that whoever ruled the region, would have a strong navy and fleet.

With the help of Shivaji, Yeshwantrao succeeded to the seat of the ruler in Javali, and thereafter pledged his loyalty to Shivaji along with payment of annual tribute.
