Barbarik was the son of Ghatotkach and Ahilavati .. He was the grandson of Bheem .

Barbarik was the grandson of one of the pandavas Bhima. Ghatotkacha was the bhima's son. His and his wife ahilawati had a son whose name was barbarik. He learnt many vidyas and finally became very powerful that he was able to fight the whole war alone. Feared from this, lord krishna wittily killed him before he could join the war.
