Bina Das was an Indian revolutionary and a patriot. Known for her daring act of opening fire at Bengal Governor Stanley Jackson.

Bina Das was an Indian Revolutionary and Nationalist from Bengal. She was born on 24 August, 1911 in Krishna nagar,Bengal. Her father Beni Madhab Das was a well known Brahmo teacher and her mother Sarla Devi was a social worker.
She was a member of Chhatri Sangha that was a semi revolutionary organisation for women in Kolkata. On 6 feb, 1932 she attempted to assassinate Bengal Governor Stanley Jackson in University of Calcutta. She fired five shots but failed and was sentenced to nine years of rigorous imprisonment.
After her early release she participated in quit India movement in 1942 and was again imprisoned from 1942 to 1945.
She won Padma Shri award in 1960 for her social work.
