Birsa munda was tribal leader and a toll hero who belonged to munda tribe, who was born in mid of 1870 s. he was impressed by the sermons of the missionaries. Birsa also spent time under well - known vaishnav preacher. and influenced by his teaching, started giving importance to purity and piety.
