Birsa Munda was a prominent tribal freedom fighter of India who belonged to the Munda tribe. During the period of 1899 to 1900, he led the then famous “Munda rebellion” with the motive of establishing “Munda Raj” in the southern province of Ranchi. Later, he was arrested by the British and died in jail.

Birsa Munda was an Indian freedom fighter and tribal leader born on 15 November 1875. He was son of Suguna Munda and karmi hatu. He was born at Ulihatu, Khunti, India. He is also known as Birsa Bhagwan. He was died at the age of 24 on 9th June 1900 at Ranchi Jail.
He is famous as tribal leaderwho revolted against British rule. He realize the fact at young age that Britishers arrived India to torture people he started aware people to expose the British company and he made his own army of tribals.
