Answer:

His nephew was cheating the corn merchant.

So, the answer is (B) His nephew.

Explanation:

The above statement is taken from the story 'The pace for living' by H.C Hutchinson.

About author:-

Ray Coryton Hutchinson is a British Novelist. He has expressed his views about the society of his time in a prominent manner through his work.

In “The Pace For Living” he expresses the sufferings of a modern man. Ray proficiently narrates the problems which hurts regular movement causing undue pressure on a human.

About the story:-

The author simply narrates the experience of a show he had seen recently in Dublin.

The main character was an elderly corn merchant, resident of a small Irish country town. He had several anxieties. His had a heart full of weaknesses.

He was annoyed by his nephew. His wife was enjoying a holiday on her fantastic affair. They told him that it has become easier now to go by aeroplane at 1000 miles per hour which was too fast for the merchant.

Narrators explained beautifully that the fast speed in our real life is also not very useful. When the mental activities are directed in a particular way, the fast speed becomes unfriendly in a manner that they naturally do not do to follow the step of the machine.
