"Rajaraja Chola I" was the "most powerful Chola king" as the empire was its greatest extent during his rule. His successors especially Rajendra Chola I were also very powerful kings. His name at birth was Arulmozhi Varman. During his rule from 985 to 1014 CE, the Chola kingdom expanded to include Tamil Nadu, Some part of northern India, parts of Sri Lanka, "Maldives and parts of East Asia". He got the Tanjavur temple also known as the Big temple or the Peruvudaiyar Koyil constructed. This temple is more than a "thousand years old" and is a "UNESCO World heritage site".
