Dietrich Brandis was a German expert .He was invited to India by Britishers for an advice,as since Britishers were worried about the depletion of forests.

His Contribution;

•He taught people the science of conservation by restricting the use of forest and banned hunting and grazing.

•He set up Indian Forest Service in 1864 and then next year 1865 he enacted Forest Act.

•He also successfully set an Imperial Forest Research Institution at Dehradun.Where Britishers taught scientific forestry ,brought by Brandis.
