Droṇa, also referred to as Dronacharya, was royal preceptor to the Kauravas and Pandavas. He was a friend of Guru Sukracharya, the guru of Asuras, including Mahabali. He was the son of the sage Bharadwaja and a descendant of the sage Angirasa.
