Answer:

Firoz Shah Tughlaq (1351-1388 A.D.) Muhammad-bin-Tughlaq was succeeded by Firoz Shah Tughlaq. He was an able ruler, therefore made an attempt to consolidate Delhi Sultanate. He followed the policy of appeasement to please the nobles, army and the Ulemas (the Muslim priests). He granted great support to Ulemas and made Iqta hereditary. He imposed Jaziya, a tax on non-Muslims. He took a lot of interest in public works. He founded new towns like Jaunpur, Hissar, etc. He constructed many sarais, mosques, madarsas and laid several fruit gardens. The post of noble was made hereditary. He reduced taxes. Firoz Shah died in 1388.
