Dietrich Brandis-a german expert in forest was appointed in the place of inpector general of India.He is the first to occupy that place.
He was made as inpector general of India because britishers need to modify lands or they want to improve the lands.He also inroduced new forest laws and he also set up the Imperial forest research institute in dehradun
