Fred was Scrooge's nephew. He had come to wish his uncle 'Merry Christmas'. However, Scrooge called him fool; he thought he was fool because Christmas festival meant paying bills, and most of the people did not have money to pay those bills. Every Christmas people became a year older, nearing towards death. Scrooge wondered why people celebrated Christmas so joyously.
