Giuseppe Mazzine was born in Genoa in 1807A.D. He became a member of secret society of Carbonari . He was 24 years old when he was sent into exile in 1831 A.D, for attempting a revolution in Liguria . He subsequently formed two underground societies , Young Italy in Marseilles and Young Europe in Berne . Members of these societies were like minded people from Poland , France , Italy and the German States . Mazzine had believed that God had intended nations to be the natural units of mankind . So Italy should not continue to be a patchwork of small states and kingdoms . It had to be forged into a single unified republic within a wider alliance of nations . Mazzini 's relentless opposition to the monarchy and his vision of democratic republic frightened the conservatives . Matternich described him as 'The most dangerous enemy of our social order '.
