Jo wanted the wizard to hit ‘mommy’ because she had hit the wizard and made him change Roger Skunk’s smell back to a foul one. Jo wanted Roger Skunk to smell like roses so that he got the liberty to choose his own way and befriend other creatures.Jo is a child and so her perspective is different from that of an adult.
