Lencho is the chief character of the novel “The Letter to God.” He is an unfortunate peasant who is the individual bread-earner of the family. He possessed strong faith in God. He expected to rain for his maize crop but there were massive rain and hailstone ruins the crop. And the crop is only the source of his livelihood but as the crop was bad by the hailstone so he believed that this year they have nothing to eat.
