Maurad was the narrator’s cousin. He was considered one of the craziest members of the Garoghlanian tribe. He was full of life and loved following his passions without caring for people around him. He could do anything to do the things he loved. He even risked his tribe's reputation for his passion for riding. Mourad had the knack of handling almost any critical situation. His heart was full of love for animals. Mourad was considered to have taken after his uncle, Khosrove who was also very eccentric.
Maurad decided to return the horse for various reasons. He had been enjoying the rides on the stolen horse for quite some time. Aram wanted the horse to be returned only after he would also learn to ride the horse thoroughly. However, the unexpected encounter with John Byro, the owner of the horse, put them in a tight spot. Though he had recognized his horse, but he decided to keep mum about it as he respected Maurad’s tribe.
