Olympe de Gouges , born Marie Gouze, was a French playwright and political activist whose feminist and abolitionist writings reached a large audience. She began her career as a playwright in the early 1780s.she She 
was one of the most important of the politically active women in revolutionary France. She protested against the constitution and the declaration of rights man and citizen as they excluded women from the basic of  rights that each human being entitled to.
