Phan Boi Chau was Vietnamese nationalist scholar who was educated in the Confucian tradition.

2.   He formed the Revolutionary society (Duy Tan Hoi) in 1903 with Prince Cuong De as the head to lead anti-colonial resistance.

3.   He was influenced by Chinese reformer Ling Qichao and wrote a book called The History of the Loss of Vietnam.

4.   He was an advocate of closer relations between China and Vietnam.
