→The Rani Chennamma was the queen of Kittur. She was also known as Kittur Chennamma.
As we know that, Rani Chennamma was left with the responsibility of the state of Kittur and an uphill task to save it from the British who attempted to possess her empire on the pretext of the “Doctrine of Lapse” which was introduced by Lord Dalhousie.
Know more, She belonged to the Lingayat community, she learnt horse riding, sword fighting and archery from a young age. At the age of 15, She got married to Raja Mallasarja of the Desai family. After the death of her husband and son in 1824
