Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7th May, 1861 at kolkata and died on 7th August, 1941 at Jorasanko Thakurbari in kolkata .He got Nobel Prize in literature for his collection of poems :-Gitanjali in 1913 and was the first Asian to get so. He wrote the National anthems of 3 countries :-India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. India :-Jana Gana Mana, Bangladesh :-Amar Sonar Bangla and Sri Lanka matha (based on his poem). His friend was William Butler Yeats who popularised his book Gitanjali in western civilization.
