Answer:

Explanation:

Razia Sultana, daughter of Sultan Iltutmish, wasn't accepted as a ruler because:

1. She was a woman and at that time, women weren't allowed to rule.

2. Though she was capable of ruling, yet, the nobles wanted her brothers should be the rulers.

Raziya better known as Raziya Sultan was the grand-daughter of Qutb-ud-din Aibak (Slave of Muhammad Ghori) and daughter of Iltutmish.

She was one of the most important and influential woman of the Delhi Sultanate and the first woman to rule the Delhi Sultanate and also the first female Muslim ruler of Indian Subcontinent .Her father Iltutmish knew her capability and eligibility for becoming the ruler. Though he crowned her as the ruler ; after the death of Iltutmish ; every official started protesting against her rule.

Reason : She was a woman. Woman during the olden days weren't given equal respect or status as men and a woman being a ruler was not at all acceptable by officials of the court.

Instead they wanted to make her brothers the rulers ; even if they weren't capable enough.

Supplementary information :

  • Raziya Sultan was asked to take the title of Sultana which was used for a king's wife i.e the queen. But she rejected it because she herself was the ruler.
  • She was murdered just for ruling the kingdom.
