Robert Hooke was a famous scientist, born in 1635. He most famously discovered the Law of Elasticity (or Hooke's Law) and did a huge amount of work on microbiology (he published a famous book called Micrographia, which included sketches of Robert Hooke was born on the Isle of Wight where his father was a priest in the Church of England. Robert Hooke suffered from ill health as a child and was tutored at home by his father. As a boy he became fascinated by mechanical devices and drawing and taught himself to draw.various natural things under a microscope).
