The conditions of the South were exceptionally prosperous and rich sand Sultan Alauddin Khalji needed cash for the culmination of his plans and for dispensing the pay rates of the warriors.

He knew well about the thriving of the South after his first fruitful ex­pedition to Deogiri in 1296 a.d.
