Dr. Mohammad Ali Ansari, one of the early nationalist leaders was the president of Madras session of Congress (1927) when it boycotted the Simon Commission.
Simon Commission was appointed by the British in 1927 which was supposed to report on the framing of Constitution for India. It had no Indian member and that is why Congress in its Madras session of 1927 under the presidentship of Dr. Mohammad Ali Ansari decided to boycott it.
