- Sukumar sen was born on 2 January 1898 in in a Bengali Baidya Brahmin's family.
- Sukumar Sen was the eldest son of the Akshoy Kumar Sen, a civil servant.
- Sukumar was appointed as the Chief Secretary of the Bengal in 1947.
- Sukamar sen serve as Indian's first Chief Election Commissioner from 21 March 1950 too 19 December 1958 .
