These were te wester Chalukyas that ruled from 535 AD to 566 AD.
Among the first modes rulers were Ranarga and his father, Jayasimha.
The first ruler and the founder of the Chalukyas of Badami are believed to be scholar and Maharaja Pulakesin.
The dynasty, however, rose in the reign of Pulakesin II.
