This is interesting to answer.

Sir Robert Walpole is considered the first Prime Minister of the World. He was the Prime Minister of the British.

King George I was the King of England. However, he could not speak or understand English. He was German. He became the King of England due to death of Anne, Queen of England.

Now the King George I could not speak English. and his Council of Ministers could not speak German.

But one of the Council of Ministers, Sir Robert Walpole could speak both the languages. So, he started conveying the messages of the king to the rest of the council of ministers and conveyed the messages of the Council of ministers to the King.

Soon, he became important among the council of ministers. Thus his position came to be called as the Prime Minister.

Thus evolved the position of the Prime minister. Even today, Prime Minister is considered ‘first among equals
