Saadat Ali Khan (Saadat Ali Khan I) was the first ruler and Subahdar Nawab of Awadh (Oudh) from 26 January 1722 to 1739.

He was the son of Muhammad Nasir.

In 1724, he established the Oudh State.

He was also known as Burhan ul Mulk Sa'adat Khan, Mir Muhammad Amin Musawi, Saadat Ali Khan I, Nawab of Awadh, Burhan ul Mulk, Khan Bahadur, Bahadur Jang, Mir Atish (Commander of Arsenal), Subedar of Agra & Oudh, Sa'adat Khan and Khuld-Ashian.

For his steadfast services, the Mughal Emperor honorably awarded him the title Khan Bahadur.

The rulers of Oudh or Awadh were called The Nawab of Awadh or the Nawab of Oudh.

They belonged to a dynasty of Persian origin from Nishapur, Iran.
