1. The account of nationalism in Britain is distinct from other countries in Europe because it was not a consequence of immediate explosion or substitution but a lengthy process of conflict.

2.  Preceding to 18 the Century there were none of the British states as such but there were only primitive ethnic nationalities such as  English, Irish, Welsh, or  Scot.
