who was the founder of proton?

I ask this question because in the book of lakhmir nd manjit kaur there is printed the name of eugen Goldstein and if I search on Google the answer is Rutherford, so tell e the right one

Ernest Rutherford is the discoverer of proton.

Proton has the positive charge of magnitude 1 just same as electron.
