Jyotiba Phute is the founder of social reform society that is known as Satyashodhak Samaj.

Another name of this samaj is Truthseeker in Pune that is running from 1872 24th September.

The main purpose behind the establishment of this society was the liberation of the members of less privileged people such as Shudra, women and Dalit from oppression and exploitation.
