It is an American corporation, based in Framingham, Massachusetts and caters to the designing, development and sale of audio equipment. Amar Bose was also a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
He received the Baker Teaching Award in 1963–64. The Bose Award for Excellence in Teaching (1989) and the Junior Bose Award (1995) were established in his honour. This was done as to recognize his outstanding teaching in the MIT School of Engineering
