If you are referring to the story 'Eidgah', then here you go.

The happiest of the boys in the village on the day of Eid was Hamid.

Hamid was a four-year-old, with only his grandmother Ameena to take care of him, as his father died of cholera and his mother had passed away too. Yet, his grandma told him that his father had went to earn money, and his mother had went to Allah to bring him gifts. So he was as happy as a lark.

At Eidgah, Hamid went out to the town with his friends. They had more money than Hamid, who had only three paisas, and his friends bought toys, snacks, and Even rode a merry-go-round. But Hamid was the only one who was left out.

Soon, they all reached the hardware section of the market. None of the boys were interested in anything there, except Hamid. He knew that his grandmother didn't have a pair of tongs, and always burnt her hands when she was cooking Chapattis. So he bought a pair of tongs for all the money he had, and was so happy that he finally got something that would save his grandmother's fingers from getting burnt.

So, he really did have a reason to be so happy.
