LOUIS XVI was the king of France at the time of French Revolution. When he ascended the throne he found that the treasury was empty as France had helped 13 American colonies to gain independence. Now the condition was LOUIS XVI and his wife Marie Antoinette was habitual of a luxurious but they now didn't have any treasure. Moreover, the also had to repay their loans . So, Louis XVI increased the taxes .
This was one of the reason which led to French Revolution.
