Mrs pumphry was grateful to the author Mr James Herriot who was also the veterinary surgeon . when Tricki was out of danger with the helpful of Mr Herriot's treatment her mistress was very delightful and was extremely happy and thanked Mr Herriot by saying that it was "really a triumph of surgery".
