Big Foot was the last Indian chief who died in Battle of Wounded Knee. Spotted Elk, who was also known as the Big Foot was the chief of Miniconjou tribe.  

The battle between US 7th cavalry regiment Garryowens and the North American Tribes is known to be the Battle of Wounded Knee or the Wounded Knee Massacre. The massacre happened in 1890 and resulted in the death of 150 native American tribal people. Big Foot was one among them.
