No one. The Mughal Emperor at that time in India was Bahadur Shah Zaffar II . He did not want to lead the sepoys as he was 82 years old. The sepoys went to him because he was the symbol of India's unity back then. So with a lot of hesitation he said he will lead them and was given the title (if I can recall) Shah-i-Shah-i-Hindustani. He had an able soldier Bhakt Khan who defended Delhi on Bahadur Shah's behalf. After the British regained control Bahadur Shah plead to the British that he had nothing to do with the revolt but British found him guilty and he was moved to Rangoon, Myanmar. His sons were shot there by marking an end to the Mughal Empire.
