Dr. Rajendra Prasad (1884 - 1963), was the chairman of the Constituent assembly. A lawyer, known for his role in the Champaran satyagraha, He was the first President of Congress, three times.
Later on, he became the first President of independent India (1952 - 1962).
He was also awarded with Bharat Ratna (nation's highest civilian award) in 1962.
Due to brief illness Dr. Rajendra Prasad passed away on 28 February 1963.
