No one was there to help the narrator in the stormy night. No it was not really the pilot of the black aeroplane.

Reasons to justify the answer are as follows:

1)When we are alone and have now hope for the help then, a lot of imaginations come in our mind and we feel that these imaginations are happening in reality.

2)If that was not his illusion then there must be an aeroplane which helped him to reach safely to the unknown airport. If there was a strange black aeroplane in reality then it must be caught in the radar but it couldn't caught in radar.
