Explanation:

Warren Hastings introduced several administrative reforms in the sphere of justice in 1772.

a. There were two courts in each district, a criminal court (faujdari adalat) and a civil court (Diwani  adalat).  

b. The European District Collectors presided over Civil courts while the Criminal courts were  

under a Qazi and a Mufti.

c. To bring about uniformity and for the benefit of the European judges, Hindu and Muslim laws  

were compiled in English.

d. A Supreme Court and a Court of Appeal (Sadar Nizamat Adalat) was established in Calcutta.
