Adivasi is the collective term for the Tribes of India, who are considered to be the indigenous people of India. prior to the Dravidians and Indo-Aryans. It refers to "any of various ethnic groups considered to be the original inhabitants of the Indian subcontinent."

Adivasis is the collective name used for the many indigenous people of India. The communities of adivasis are called tribes. They once in Habitat much larger areas than they do that present. When the Indo - Aryans invaded India 3000 years ago some indigenous people mingled and settled down with them. Many of them were , however , pushed into the remote hilly or forested areas where they continue to stay even today .
