Serf is the term used to denote the agricultural laborer during the feudal times in large parts of the Europe.

One of the biggest problems of the serfs was they were tied to the land of their masters.

They were bonded laborers with practically no rights however the responsibility of their security laid on the shoulders of the landlords.
